Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Mealfy mobile app (“Mealfy”, “the app”, “we”, “us”). By downloading, accessing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. The app is operated by the Mealfy team. You can reach us at [email protected].

The service

Mealfy lets you photograph a restaurant menu and turns it into structured, translated text, and lets you save and organize your scans. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Mealfy. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and are able to enter into these Terms.

Your account

Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when you register, and let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Mealfy on Apple devices you own or control, in accordance with these Terms and the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the app except as permitted by law.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
• Upload content you do not have the right to submit, or that infringes anyone’s rights.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the app or its backend.
• Use automated means to access the service in a way that harms it or circumvents rate limits.
• Misuse the app to process content that is not a menu, or that is illegal or harmful.

Your content

You keep ownership of the photos you scan and the content you create. By using the app, you grant us the limited right to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the service to you — including sending menu photos to our AI processing provider (OpenAI) to extract and translate the text. You are responsible for the content you upload and confirm you have the right to use it. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.

AI-generated results

Mealfy uses automated AI to read and translate menus. Results may be inaccurate or incomplete — including dish names, prices, ingredients, allergens, and translations. Do not rely on the app for decisions where an error could be harmful, such as allergy or dietary safety. Always verify important information with the restaurant. The app is provided for convenience and informational purposes only.

Availability

We aim to keep Mealfy available and working, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times. We may suspend or discontinue the service, in whole or in part, at any time.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You may stop using Mealfy at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or misuse the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitations of liability) will remain in effect.

Apple App Store

The following applies because you obtained the app through the Apple App Store:

• These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Your license to use the app is limited to Apple devices you own or control, as set out in Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where these Terms conflict with that agreement, the Apple terms govern for App Store use.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• To the extent permitted by law, any product warranty is our sole responsibility, not Apple’s.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product-liability, regulatory, or intellectual-property claims.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of your place of residence, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under local law.
